Twins Start Strong

Twins have started strong in the second half of the season sweeping the A's but unfortunetly losing two to Detroit at home. The bats were flying against Oakland and the pitching preformances were outstanding as the twins swept the A's to start the second half of the season. After sweeping the A's the Twins opened the three game series against Detroit and has lost two so far by very close scores and beautiful pitching preformances from both Garza and Santana. The twins need to become consistent with the bats otherwise its gonna be a repeat of the first half of the season. The key is giving our pitchers a chance to win day in and day out otherwise we are gonna be in trouble. Continue to watch the twins and hopefully come up with a second half comeback to win the AL Central.

Fell Short!!

Justin Morneau fell short in this years Century 21 Homerun Derby losing a swing off to Albert Pujols in the first round. Justin Morneau however is still the best homerun hitter in the major leagues by far, lol, well he is in my books as well as many other twins fans. It will be interesting to see what the twins can do in the second half of the season, they have all the key players to make a championship run. We will see if we can establish a solid rotation to finish out the year Matt Garzas preformance was spectacular and if he can pitch for us like he did against the White Sox we should be in good shape to make the playoffs.

What a Tragedy

Pat Neshek fell short in the American League Final Vote for the all star game. He fell to Red Soxs reliever Hideki Okajima. Now I personally have a bone to pick with the voting public, the All Star game voting is a hoax and it really is time to do something about it. I am not being judgemental because of favoritism, Pat Neshek deserved to be in the All Star game and was clearly the best player on that five player ballot. You look at Okajimas stats and they are not nearly as good or impressive as Pat Nesheks 1.74 era and 51 strikeouts. Sure Okajima has a era under 1 but you have to consider the fact that Neshek has been put into situations where the game is on the line or very close. Okajima has the Boston Red Sox power hitters to back it up, I mean when your up 15-2 in the 8th inning its not that hard to mantain an era under 1. This is really disappointing and I wish the public would look more into the stats of the player rather then the name.

Twins All-Stars

Today three twins were announced to be in the all star roster; Torii Hunter, Justin Morneau, and Johan Sanatana. I think the twins deserved this to happen to the organization, three all stars is an honor and not only that but this was expected throughout Twins Territory. Torii Hunter obviously deserves to be in this roster not only that but he deserves to be a starter in this game, his offensive production has been outstanding and defense once again spectacular. Justin Morneau was choosen for his homerun numbers and ability to preform in the clutch. He has been very valuable to the twins this year and always will be while he is playing with this organization. Johan Santana is a back to back Cy Young winner and although his numbers look sluggish he has pitched outstanding this year, the only problem is the twins cannot give him the run support to win the games he deserves. All in all I am very happy with the selections this year and hope to see both Torii and Justin in the homerun derby, will they be there? We will just have to find out!
